We aim to bridge the gender gap by embarking on endeavors that will increase educational access to disadvantaged girls all across the world and improve representation across all fields, especially STEM.
MORE THAN 130 MILLION GIRLS AROUND THE WORLD ARE DENIED AN EDUCATION.
There are many things that will prevent a girl being educated. But when it comes down to it, the truth is, millions of girls are prevented from going to school, simply because they were born a girl.
of the world's 796 million illiterate people are girls.
girls are out of secondary school worldwide.
of girls in developing countries are married before the age of 15, hindering their education.
Although in recent years, girls' access to education has dramatically improving as a whole and gender inequality in terms of education has been reducing, in rural and developing areas of the world, these obstacles are still very present. In order for the world to progress as a whole, gender parity must be reached, and education is of the prime factors to achieve this. Investing in girls’ education can create a positive multiplier effect! In fact, the United Nations has observed that 9 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)* are directly addressed by educating girls.
When girls are empowered, it benefits all of us. Investing in girls is key to reducing poverty: Girls who receive an education marry later, have fewer children, and are more likely to get healthcare for themselves and their children. Every year of schooling increases a girl’s future earnings by 10-20%. When a girl is educated, she gains the ability to change the world around her for the better.
What we do
Change starts small. In our own local community, we strive to empower girls in all communities from all backgrounds to achieve their fullest potential. From STEM immersion camps to inner city educational workshops, we spread the power of education and the importance of an educated generation of girls. In addition, we also fundraise to send girls in underprivileged areas all around the world to school.
We immerse girls in STEM in our own community to increase representation. Through STEM workshops as well as talks, we encourage girls to become involved in STEM. Additionally, with the help of our ambassadors, our message resounds across the world.
We hold educational workshops and seminars in inner city schools and disadvantaged communities to better empower the next generation of female leaders.
We fundraise in our local communities and work with well established implementing partners who have a long history of delivering high quality education programs across Sierra Leone and Uganda.
